Beneath the Waves

These were my submissions for Beneath the Waves challenge. I was able to put more time into some of the characters and creatures, but some still had details I wanted to fix or add. I'll likely improve them in the future. You should check out all the other submissions in the challenge, there's really cool stuff there!

The setting is based on several Native American, Pacific Islands, Greek and Norse mythology creatures & deities and a bit on end of the world mythology, for example:

According to Hawaiian myth, the current universe is only the latest version of a series of universes that have collapsed. Octopodes are the last survivors of that universe (Fhtagn!).

I chose The Brood of Jörmungandr because of Ragnarok.

Yaghan mythology includes a tale about the Moon goddess flooding the world. Yaghan women dove in cold waters of Tierra del Fuego to hunt for food and taught the skill to their younger daughters. A purely female skill as men focused on hunting on land.
